Fire Fighting Appliance Hose Reels

The new LT Series is now being used in many of the UK fire fighting appliances.

 

The reel pictured above features an open spool design which allows water to drain, in the past conventional closed spool designs hold water inside the drum causing unseen corrosion.

 

The LT Series also incorporates a direct drive gear system which eliminates the need for conventional chain and sprockets making the drive system more reliable.

 

It also has a full flow fluid path, 1 ½ " BSP inlet and 1" BSP outlet as standard, with a full flow 1- ½" inlet and outlet also available for CAFS application.

 

Unlike conventional fire reels the LT Series features a 1 ½ " BSPF inlet and 1" BSPF outlet as standard. This provides full flow water delivery with no restriction or pressure drop. A version for CAFS applications is also available with a 1 ½" inlet and outlet.

 

The reels are fitted with a manual rewind system that has been designed so it can be disengaged completely whilst the reel is in use; it is only ever engaged when the operator requires it. This revolutionary system means that the drum can run freely with only the motor drive engaged reducing any drag that would be caused by conventional bevel rewind systems. It has also been designed so it can be used from 90° up to 45° this eliminates the need of a sloping frame.
