Q: The Air Pressure or Fluid Flow is Restricted.

A: U-bolts tightened down too tight on hose restricting product flow

If the U-Bolts are tightened too tight on the hose they can restrict the product flow. Loosen the U-bolts to be snug on outside diameter of hose but not too much that it will restrict the flow of the product. Should you have further restrictions Please contact Reelcare customer services with your model and serial number of the reel so we can advise on how best to remedy the problem as the procedure may change dependant on models.

Q; Hose will not retract.

A: There could be several reasons for your hose reel not retracting. Here are some of the most common.

A: Hose reel could be mounted on a ceiling above 17'(5.18mtrs).
If the reel is mounted above 17'(5.18mtrs) the drive spring may not have enough strength to retract the weight of the hose. reduce the height of the mounted reel to 17' (5.18mtrs) or contact customer service s with your model and serial numbers of the reel so we can advise on how on how best to remedy the problem as the procedure may change dependant on model.

A: The latch mechanism is engaged with the drive spring coiled tight.
This is called lockout and is caused by the u-bolt hose clamps on sheave/ drum assembly not being positioned correctly. re-position u-bolts in the correct position. if problem continues, contact customer services with your model and serial numbers of the reel so we can advise on how best to remedy the problem as the procedure can change dependant on model.

A: The feed to the reel has been connected in solid piping.
If a flexible connection to the hose reel is not used, you will cause excessive binding to the main shaft and hub bearings causing the reel not to retract, or create possible leaking, this will also void any warranty.

A: The reel is mounted on an uneven surface.
Bolting the reel down to an uneven surface could distort the frame causing a bind on the main support shafts restricting smooth retraction of hose.

A: There is insufficient spring tension.
Please contact Reelcare customer services with your model and serial numbers of the reel so we can advise on how on how best to re-tension the reel and remedy the problem as the procedure can change dependant on model.

Q: Media Is Leaking From Swivel Assembly Or Associated Connections .

A: "O" ring worn or the wrong "O" ring is being used for the material being handled. Replace the worn or incorrect "O" ring.

A: The swivel assembly maybe loose or not enough thread sealant has been used on the shaft threads. Apply more thread sealant and retightens the swivel assembly.

A: More pressure is being applied than the recommended pressure of the hose reel. Please contact customer services with your model and serial number of the reel so we can advise on how best to remedy the problem as the procedure may change dependant model.

A: If a flexible connection to the hose reel is not used, you will cause excessive binding to the main shaft and hub bearings causing the reel not to retract, or create possible leaking, this will also void any warranty.
